Parking on Race Day
The Banff Marathon is proud to promote environmental sustainability and stewardship, and we invite participants to join us in creating the Greenest Marathon on the Planet. As such, we are proud to have ROAM Transit as an event sponsor. During the race weekend, participants are invited and encouraged to use Banff’s ROAM public transportation services for free (by displaying your race bib to the driver).
ROAM Transit offers bus service to many of the most popular destinations in Banff (including several downtown stops, the Banff Springs Hotel, the Cave and Basin, the Banff Gondola, Tunnel Mountain, and more). You can see the bus routes and schedules here.
On Saturday and Sunday, parking will be extremely difficult to find in the downtown core. We advise participants as well as friends and family spectators to walk, run, bike to the start area if possible. Also check out your hotel’s shuttle. Otherwise, parking will be easer to find along Marmot Crescent and Cougar Street. Roam Transit bus stops are readily available along Banff Ave, as shown below.
